Our new Shift Knob Adapter uses our Garagistic threaded adapter to allow to use of any shift knob with the M10 x 1.25 or M12 x 1.25 thread pattern to an OEM BMW push-on style shifter rod. How to use the Shift Knob Adapter on a Push-On BMW Shifter Rod:

This adapter allows you to run most aftermarket threaded shift knobs onto an OEM push-on style shifter rod.

Installation of the adapter is as simple as lining up the slot on your shifter with the inside of the shifter adapter and then pressing it on. It will require a bit of force but the adapter will click in place once fully seated.

With the threaded adapter in place, you can now twist on your new adapter.

Then enjoy the freedom of any aftermarket shift knob.

How to remove Garagistic Shift Knob Adapter

Removal of the threaded adapter requires that you turn the shift knob several times to expose about 4 or 5 threads of the adapter to release the gator teeth from the lower locking channel.

Once the shift knob has been threaded off this much, the shift knob (with the threaded adapter) will pull right off.

Note: It is very important the threaded shift knob is threaded off a little before pulling off of the rod. The last few threads are what tighten the shift knob + adapter down on the rod.
